Slide Complex, 2026, pencil and oil pastel on paper, 198x148cmOne day, the slide my nephew used to play on at home began to feel significant to me. The child climbing up and down the slide, my ageing, frightening parents, my sister, my comrade, and the tensions between us all seemed to overlap.
From then on, I began to recognise the same structure in the city's many complexes and buildings, and in the relationships that hold people together. Densely packed buildings, the people inside and outside them, and relationships that connect and break apart all became part of this way of seeing. Blueprint-like images of structures that do not exist, yet somehow seem real.
